Hi all! Welcome back to TSP. Below, I have for you the highlights of my January music finds. I’ve got to say, I found some real gems. Highlights include a new song by Whethan, my favorite Illenium remix (possibly ever), and some really great deep house. These tracks were definitely the best music of January ’17 that I came across!
The songs on my playlists are not necessarily new (see MK), but my playlists are just always what I’m feeling at the moment. I have the whole playlist linked below, so be sure to check that out. Happy listening 🙂
Savage – Whethan
The singer on this track sounds a lot like Nick Jonas. The person behind the Jonas-esque voice is named MAX, and this is the first time I’ve heard his work. This song bumps, by the way. And that cover art! Check it out for yourself.
Just Be Good to Me – Ku De Ta feat. Nikki Amber (Rare Candy Remix)
I am in love with the beat and melody of this song. The way Rare Candy mixes this song is pure gold; the perfect mix of deep house and accompanying the vocals. Sometimes, deep house songs sample just one line of a song, but I like how Rare Candy keeps the integrity of the vocals of Nikki Amber. Listen below!
Miss You – James Hersey
You may recognize Hersey from his vocals on “Coming Over”, famously produced by Dillon Francis & Kygo last year. This is his newest song, which came out about 6 months ago.
Follow Me – Fancy Folks
This drop kind of comes out of nowhere. In a good way. A really good way. This is one of my favorites out of January. I really love putting together eclectic playlists for each month or season; a list that caters to each music mood that I have. Because of this, I don’t get bored with the playlists! Listen below!
I Just Wanna – Big Wild
Brand new from Big Wild, “I Just Wanna” has funky Griz-like sounds that make you want to get up and dance. I’ve been a fan of Big Wild for a while, ever since I saw him open for ODESZA on their 2015-2016 tour. He’s got a really good mix of songs that he put’s out, all with their own unique flair. Check out his newest below.
Wolves – Snavs
I have to have at least one trap song on each playlist. I really went through a trap phase during college (my college friends can attest to that), but lately my music-finding has been geared more towards deep and techno house. Trap, though; it’s the best for workout playlists, or getting pumped up before a night out. Listen to this gem below!
2 AM – Emma Sameth
This sexy track is perfect for winding down after a long day. Sameth’s vocals are chillingly beautiful, and the song features a nice, slow beat to accompany them. Listen for yourself below!
BONUS: Proper Mix #6 by Liu
This 34-minute deep house set is gold. Liu is not someone I’m familiar with, but when this came on my Sonos during my stream shuffle, I literally got out of my seat and started jamming out. If you have a commute, or some time, please give it a listen!
As you can hear, I found some really good ones last month. This playlist has been fueling my car rides, workouts, and everything in between. I love how there is a great mix of sounds on this playlist. I always try to make new playlists for each month, because the playlist gets to be way too long if I don’t split it up. My constant search for good music yields so many results each month. I hope you like the best music of January playlist, check it out below!
