Hi friends! Welcome back to the blog 🙂

April has been a month filled with going out of town, Coachella, and busy-ness in general.

This made finding music for my monthly playlist easy, and at the same time a bit challenging.

Nonetheless, there was some really great music released this month! I really got back into my deep house phase, as you probably heard from my main playlist on Spotify (THE SOUL PLAYLIST, if you want to follow).

Kendrick Lamar released his new album this month and broke the internet.

HUMBLE. was the anthem of Coachella, naturally.

Kendrick wasn’t the only artist to debut new music right around Coachella. Lots of artists played unreleased music during their Coachella sets, as most do.

SNBRN showcased a new song, called “Show Me”, that I will detail more below. (Hint, it’s amazing.)

ODESZA also released new music just last week.

With that, let’s get into the April playlist…

Plot Twist – Sigrid

My latest find, this is a girl-power song (I have a soft spot for those) that’s really great.  Sigrid has a really good voice that gives me LEON and Birdy vibes.

Listen below!

Down (Black Caviar Remix) – Marian Hill

I didn’t think this song could get any better, especially after seeing it live.

Black Caviar adds this fun, saxophone melody that is PERFECTION. If you want a more dance-inspired version of this song, please listen.

Props to any producer that can make an already-perfect song even better.

Nobody Knows (Pham Remix) – Autograf

If you watch my Instagram stories, you know that it took awhile for this song to grow on me. So you can imagine my surprise when I hear this remix.

There are some seriously sexy vibes going on with this version. Listen below!

YDU (BKAYE Remix) – Opia

This is one of my favorite songs from the month.  It has some Illenium similarities and is basically melodic bass house.

The song already has a great melody, but this remix heightens it. Listen for yourself below.

Show Me – SNBRN

Parts of this song slightly remind me of tribal trap. Usually SNBRN’s music is deep house, or at least his sets are.

I love how he and Coyote Kisses made this song different. Great collaboration right here.

And it BUMPS in the car (especially the second chorus) so I highly suggest going to your car right now and blaring this track.

Pulling Me In – Phantoms

I’ve been a fan of Phantoms for awhile, and this song is just so catchy.

Think Bob Moses, with a bit more bounce.

This track was another one of my faves from the month. I highly recommend you listen to more of Phantoms’ work, but start with this song.  Listen for yourself below!

It Won’t Kill Ya – The Chainsmokers

Let me preface this one with: I don’t really like The Chainsmokers. I did a lot before they got big, but now, not so much. Only because every single song they come out with is the same.

Especially the newest ones. And I am not a fan of cheesy lyrics.

But this song off of their new album is really good. It takes me back to their old stuff when they were just doing remixes and barely anyone knew who they were.

The thing I like about this song is that the drop actually changes the course of the song.

Chainsmokers, I see you. Keep producing more music like this. See what I mean below!

Line of Sight (feat. Wynne and Mansionair) – ODESZA

FINALLY we get some new music from ODESZA. Seriously, I feel like I’ve been waiting so long.

And in true ODESZA fashion, they release two amazing songs at once.

The vocals in this song, the beat and melody, and the way it makes you feel is perfect. Magical, even.

If you haven’t heard this yet, please listen. I’m linking both of their new songs below because they are too good.

P.S. I just bought tickets to Lost Lake Festival in Phoenix in October. ODESZA, Chance the Rapper, The Killers and Major Lazer are headlining. Hope to see you there!

As always, head on over to Spotify to follow the playlist so that you can listen to it all the time 🙂 It is also below for you to hear.

Let me know what you think!
